The world of fashion is constantly changing, more and more designers are looking to the past for inspiration; what's old is new, and nowadays fashion is shaped by all the cultural influences from around the globe. The past continues to be the inspiration for the future but more than ever, designers are concerned about where fashion and beauty trends originate. The styles and trends you will see in 2008 will inevitably reflect modern interpretations of past designs, while also keeping an eye on emerging global trends in beauty and culture.
A fashion conscious person never misses the fashion trends for the year to come. If you are already reading this article, this means that you are interested in what to wear in 2008. Do you like the fashion of the fifties? Well, you should, because it will come back in 2008 and that entire craze will be in style again. As a matter of fact, this trend of the 50s comeback has already started before 2008, so you are at least a bit familiar with the concept. Such items as high heeled pumps, slim skirts, large belts, and loose blouses with puffy collars and sleeves appear to be becoming all the rage once again. It appears that the days of butts hanging out of low-rise jeans are ending and a more sophisticated look is returning to the mainstream.
Here are some of the latest staples of your wardrobe should be: * A slim skirt * A wide belt * A great fitting pair of slacks * A fitted jacket * Shaped t-shirts * Wrap blouses and dresses * Metallic accents including grey metals and gold * Denim items
The colors that are dominant for the style for 2008's spring and summer are the grey, black, red, white plus yellow. This color is a problematic color that does not suit with everything, so it must be worn with great care. Use these colors to add to your classic wardrobe in unique ways. However, next year, dare to wear yellow and see how it looks.
The accessories must match also the outfit. The oversized bags are still in style, while the super huge earrings and necklaces will compliment the overall clothing. The jewels may be made of plastic or more natural materials such as wood or even clay. These can be ethno influenced and create a great effect on the entire apparel, making the body look small and giving an interesting perspective.
So, are you ready for spring and the summer of 2008? Get your wardrobe ready for this year's style and buy some great new trendy apparel online or in the stores that you usually visit. For those who love to shop online, i recommend to visit Designer Clothing Shop like StyleRunway.com and feel free to browse from their wide range collection of designer items. Now you know what to hunt for, just go and get them.

2008 Hot beautiful wedding gown styles and color trends by Tommy Glauning

In the past year, we saw wedding gowns that went the overly romantic route with vintage accents like bows, lace, generous beading, and tiered ruffles galore like wedding cakes. For instance, the last wedding I attended for December 2007 had the bride walking around in a strapless duchesse satin number, but with a full meringue-like skirt over a hoop petticoat. It was cute and photogenic, but she had a hard time sitting still throughout the wedding proper. Plus, her gown was too heavy for her to dance the night away with her new groom.
Take heart, 2008 brides. Bridal fashion mavens are predicting a more sensuous silhouette with either a cinched waist or draped hips in the coming year. The last quarter's craze over obi sashes will still be evident with the aforementioned trend, but with more sedate metallic colors like silver, pale gold; and bolder, brighter colors for the more daring, to complement the wedding motif. Skirts will be either full in manner of Marilyn Monroe's famous up-skirt moments, or diaphanous to the point of cruelty. Lace overlays are still favored to add a formal touch to an otherwise more fun, more casual feel to wedding dresses, but the coming year's bridal statement is all about flowing fabrics, not stiff ones.
Speaking of casual, the trend is also moving toward ankle-length dresses in favor of floor-length ball gown affairs. As mentioned, the modern bride likes to dance and mingle with her guests instead of just sit on a chair with her groom and be a queen-like spectator to her own wedding. Romance and risqué are fashion factors to consider, with strapless bodices, asymmetrical necklines, and bustiers taking precedence over high-necked ones. Again, for a formal touch, cover-up garments are a must especially for morning nuptials. Capelets trimmed with fur or lace are dramatic and chic, but beaded boleros, sheer shawls, and fur shrugs still make the grade for the fashion-conscious bride who doesn't want to bare her shoulders too much.
Those who don't want to do away with sleeves altogether can have several options. One is the more innocent, picturesque puffed sleeves. Done daintily in sheer tulle or chiffon instead of encrusted with piles of beading and whatnot, it can add an unexpected panache to a Grecian-style gown with a below-the-bust waistline. Dropped sleeves are also gorgeous for this particular style, as well as extended sleeves to flatter broad shoulders. Those with "stronger" arms can opt for bell sleeves that will emphasize their wrists rather than their biceps. At hotbridesonline.com, the latest trends in wedding gowns can be found.
However, 2008's freshest, boldest bridal fashion trend has everything to do with (le gasp!) opting for colors other than virginal white. Pale golds, mauves, blues, pinks, and even silvery greys won't raise eyebrows when the brides wearing them walk down the aisle, but will earn nods if properly done. Now, if you're not daring enough, you can choose to accentuate your white or off-white gown with your favorite color. A sash, belt, ribbon, or obi can complement a simply (but superbly) cut gown, as long as the fabrics and patterns don't clash horribly with each other. Oversized bows and flower accents are also in, and these provide the perfect venue for brides to personalize their wedding attires with colors that add character. The secret is not to go overboard, but to make sure the colors are well-placed and done in good taste. For the more daring brides, they may want to visit redhotbrides.com to see what some bold and courageous woman are sporting these days.

Makeover Your Wardrobe For 2008 by Janice Tham

With the new year, it is time for a new image. Time to streamline your wardrobe so that everything fits and flatters you perfectly. Make those I-have-nothing-to-wear days history. Pare down your wardrobe ruthlessly and throw out anything that does not make you look amazing.
Set aside a day, or two to try on every item of clothing you own.
Does it look good on you? Yes? Keep it. Maybe? Throw it out. No? Throw it out too.
Okay, you need not throw them into a bin. You could give them away to someone who might appreciate it more all sell them to a second hand store.
Take stock of what you have left? You would probably be left with very few items if you have gone through your wardrobe thoroughly, with a critical eye.
Before you shop for the latest Spring/summer styles, stop. You do not want to fill your wardrobe with more clothes that do not flatter you. What looks great on your best pal could very well look awful on you.
Spring/Summer 2008 fashion is elegant. From simple cuts to tiered dresses. Colors range from black, white (classics every season) to tan to mint green and pink and purple. No must wear color or must wear shape or strict skirt length. The only rule is to wear something that makes you look fabulous and that is the attitude you should take when revamping your wardrobe. Vertical stripes are hot this season which is a boon for anyone who could use their slimming effect.
Study the clothes you are keeping. The ones that make you look great. Does any particular color dominate?
Speaking about color, do you know which colors really flatter you? The right colors make a world of difference. A simple dress in your color can make you look radiant, but the exact same dress in a different color that clashes with your skin tone could make you look sickly. Choose your colors carefully.
Do you look better in cool colors or warm colors? If there already is a particular color, like electric blue or gold or peach that makes you look particularly wonderful, make that the basic color in your wardrobe and get at least a skirt, a pair of pants, a top and a dress in that shade. Then search for other colors that complement your chosen color and which make you look amazing.
When you buy clothing, do not look at the size alone. Size is but a number, conjured up according to the whims of the fashion houses. You don't have to be a size zero to look gorgeous. You do have to wear clothes that fit your actual size and which flatter your figure type if you want to look your best.
Measure the widest part of your hip and the largest part of your bustline. Are your hips larger than your bust or is your bustline larger than your hips?
If your hips are larger, you are bottom heavy or pear shaped. If both are about the same, plus minus an inch, you have an hourglass figure. If your bust is larger than your hips than you are top heavy.
This fact alone determines what types of outfits you should go for if you want to look your very best.
If you are bottom heavy, you can get away with padded jackets. Printed tops, frills on the top and any details that draw attention to the top half of your body is desirable. You might want to wear something dark a plain to visually shrink your hips. Bubble skirts, pleated skirt or anything that draws attention to your hips would only make them bigger and make you look disproportionate.
If you are top heavy, you can wear any type of pants. You can even get away with a full skirt or pleated one. By the way, many models are top heavy, so yours is a very desirable figure type. Then again watch what you wear on top. If your bust is big, you could wear plunging necklines or clothes that show off your cleavage so you would look sexy and not fat.
If you have an hourglass figure, you've got the ideal figure and can get away with most outfits.

General Jewelry Tips for 2008 - The Do's and Dont's by Morph

Jewelery is a personal ornament, such as a necklace, ring, or bracelet, made from gemstones, precious metals or other substances. If cosmetic is for the body, shoes are for the feet, jewelries are for the clothes. Jewelries can make you look trendy, classic or even cheap. Proper use can also make any clothing look expensive.
Categories of jewelry 1. Fine - is made from gold, platinum, fine silver, combined with precious and semi-precious stones. 2. Costume - is made from lower cost materials such as metals with gold and or silver finishes, and from unusual materials such as wood, plastic and beads. Costume jewelries are usually combinations of glass, synthetic or some semi-precious stones.
Do's: * Wear contrasting shape all the time if you have a round body built. * Wear ivory and tortoiseshell, but only if they're fake. * Assemble a collection of good, basic costume jewelry: - a pair of matching gold bangle bracelets, or a gold cuff not wider than an inch and a half. link necklaces in varying lengths. - a pair of simple gold hoop earrings, or gold button-style clip-ons * Buy a two-tone watch so that you can wear it with silver or gold jewelry. * Keep your jewelry organized. Even egg cartons or plastic silverware trays will do. * Wear large earrings if you're a large woman--you're among the few who can carry them off. * Anything dangling such as earrings make a body silhouette slim. * Jewelry is an effective focal point of the viewer's eye to distract attention away from any body flaws. * Gold tones fit almost any skin color.
Dont's... * Mixing real diamonds from fake diamonds will make the real look fake. * Don't overdo. * Wear jewelry that jingles when you walk. * Pierce your ears more than twice in each lobe. Never wear earrings so heavy that they stretch your lobes. *Mix your metals. Silver jewelry is out of the question if your jacket has gold buttons. * Wear rhinestones before 6 p.m. * Squeeze a large neck into a dainty choker. It just doesn't work.

The Alfa Romeo is an Italian automobile manufacturing company, founded in 1910 in Milan, Italy. Originally known as ALFA, which is an acronym meaning Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili. Nicola Romeo purchased ALFA in 1915. His surname was used as the company name. G1 in 1920 was the first car designed by the company. Exclusiveness and personality has been a distinctive feature of the Alfa Romeo brand. This fact has been proved with options of the broad choice of bodies, engines, exterior outfits and interior furnishings. There are other options that enable customers to order the car that meets their needs yet makes it different.
To further extend this choice in response to the growing number of requests from the maker and also the reason of staying ahead than others, Alfa Romeo developed the "Unique Alfa" Customization Program. More and more brides are looking to go that one bit further when it comes to their wedding favours. 2007 has seen an even great rise in unusual and funky wedding favours that really get their guests talking.

However, as fashionable trends from the high street are featuring in more regularly in our wedding style, brides are keen to keep up with the Jones. And, what better way to be a talked about trendsetter than by giving your guests fabulously funky favours!?
There are many ways in which you can ensure your wedding favours are high fashion and incredibly en vogue. Firstly, you have to ensure that your tables are probably dressed as these will provide the platform for your show stopping favours. Colourful table linen will be making a major comeback for 2008 weddings as to will lace tablecloths. Equally, the clean, crisp lines of white table cloths are an ever popular choice. Depending on what style your wedding has, this will determine what type of table dressing you have. Just be sure that you have got the look right and match favours with other decorative pieces.
Once your tables are all set and clear, they are ready to provide the platform for your favours. Clear plastic favour boxes moulded into heart shapes look very trendy when filled with nostalgic confectionery. These can then be tied with bright organza ribbon to match your brightly coloured table cloths. Favour like this will give your reception a retro feel.
If your table linen is to be white, there is much option regarding favours. An unusual idea would be to fill clear plastic hearts with preserved rose petals or rose bud potpourri. These can then be tied with lengths of ribbon and tied to the back of your guests chairs. You could attach name cards and these fabulous favours can then double as place cards. This idea is best suited to spring and summer weddings. Look at for it at 2008 weddings in the warmer months...
Chocolate is always a big winner and a trendy choice for funky favours, especially if it's personalised. Personalised truffles or slabs of chocolate give weddings a vintage feel and always go down very well with guests. Personalised sweet tins, packets and pillow packs are always available in up-to-the-minute trendy styles and look fabulous at place settings.
The elegant candle wedding favours of 2006 and 2007 are now making way for funky alternatives in the shape of novelty candles. Whether these be in the shape of boats, chocolates, flowers or even palm trees they are guaranteed to get your guests talking. Whatever your wedding theme, there's a novelty shape candle wedding favour for you.
So, if you want to favour your guests with something funky or unusual think clear plastic favour boxes, personalised chocolate and sweets and think novelty candles and you won't go for wrong. Burberry, the international luxury brand, introduced the new Burberry Prorsum Autumn / Winter Collections for Men and Women during Milan Fashion Weeks in January and February earlier this year.
January marked the launch of the Autumn / Winter 2007 / 2008 season for Burberry with the new Burberry Prorsum Men's collection. Christopher Bailey, Burberry Creative Director, took his inspiration from the company's abundant heritage, commenting:
"Our rich Burberry archives were the starting point for this collection, inspired by Burberry's historic role in aviation, Shackleton's Antarctic expeditions and the strict military tailored uniforms of the British Sandhurst Military Academy."
Silhouettes for this Autumn / Winter Burberry collection include strict tailored uniform shapes married with oversized expedition outerwear forms. Furthermore, the carefully chosen colour palette emphasises the military theme: anthracite, grey melange, pale grey, dark nickel, carbon, mid grey, silver, peat, sepia, airforce blue, naval blue, uniform blue, petrol blue, olive, pale olive, olive drab, khaki, mustard, and cognac are predominantly featured.
The collection's inspiration is referenced once again through the fabric selection. Fabrics include flannel, felt, cotton flannel, boiled wool, heavy grain leather, shearling, technical quilted nylon, quilted plongé leather, silk shantung, silk jacquard, pressed wool, cashmere, and cotton poplin.
Strong accessories complement the looks: unique and precious alligator and box calf totes and holdalls with strong brass and nickel hardware were featured alongside striking Brogue military boots.
British models from the current Spring/Summer Burberry campaign - all part of the Burberry "family" - were seen on the runway. Otis and Isaac Ferry, sons of British singer/songwriter Bryan Ferry, as well as Max Irons, son of British actor Jeremy Irons walked down the runway accompanied by powerful and evocative music such as the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby", Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" and the Boom Town Rats' "Diamond Smiles".
In February, Burberry introduced the Prorsum Womenswear Autumn / Winter 2007 / 2008 collection.
For womenswear, the inspiration originated foremost from the company's equestrian knight logo, as Christopher Bailey explained: "Real British luxury, outerwear and the Burberry Prorsum knight were the starting points to this medieval inspired collection."
As for the men's collection, the women's colour palette calls to mind medieval hues: black, anthracite, charcoal, dark olive, khaki, airforce blue, dark nickel, antique rose, and bordeaux were all introduced.
A variety of rich fabrics are used, stretching from beautiful quilted pythons, to studded soft nappa leather and stitched patent leather, to shaved mink, to elaborate tapestry jacquards and fine lace. In addition, rich shear lings, metallic nylons, chain mail knits, chunky cashmere cables, ruffled chiffon, chintzed silks, and glossy lingerie satins were introduced.
Ready-to-wear looks were completed by a selection of stunning accessories, such as striking gauntlet as well as hook and eye boots, studded and mesh leather sandals, as well as saddlery belts, hawking gloves, studded clutch bags, and mesh belt bags.
Mirroring the men's show, models included British talent from the current Spring/Summer Burberry campaign such as Agyness, Keira Gormley and Lily Donaldson. The music Christopher Bailey selected were two songs by David Bowie, "Eight line poem" and "Lady Stardust", as well as The Rolling Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and Siouxsie and the Banshees' "The Passenger".

Fashion and Florence aren't linked only by their initial letter, but by a very aged synergy starting from the Middle Ages. In those times the city exported a large amount of valuable fabrics throughout Europe, as you can clearly see in the Palazzo Pitti's "Museum of Costume".
Pitti Immagine
Nowadays Pitti Immagine, one of the most significant wear shows worldwide, is dedicated to fashion designers. In the frame of the exhibition spaces of the Fortezza da Basso, three different events, Pitti Uomo, Pitti Bimbo and Pitti Filati, take place to show the previews of fashion collections of spring-summer 2008.
Do knit yourself!
Pitti Immagine this year presented Do Knit Yourself, inspired by the new craze for knitting, with men and women getting together in Knit Cafés -mainly in the United States and Japan- to knit while drinking infusions and teas. For the occasion, a group of Cafés and style spots in Florence will be transformed into knit-cafés.
Outlets Villages near Florence
If you are looking for points of sale, Florence can offer different choices. The Mall and Barberino Designer Outlet offer a wide selection of luxury brands. They are both reacheable by a shuttle service available in the centre of Florence.
The Mall is one of the places vital for all those who love the big brands and well dressing. The structure allows to visit easily all the shops by Valentino, Ferragamo, Armani and many others. The shops are wide and rich, the staff attentive and qualified. Some bars and restaurants offer the possibility to have lunch and enjoy a good coffee. All the shops are placed side by side, immersed in the beautiful nature of the Valdarno.
Barberino Designer Outlet is half an hour from Florence and less than an hour from Bologna. Fashion products of previous seasons are sold at reduced prices from 30 to 70%.

Campus Fashion For Fall 2007 Through Winter 2008 by Janice Wee

It is back to school time. Have you got everything you need for the new school term?
Books? Stationery? Clothing?
Based on the fashion shows for Fall 2007 to Winter 2007, black is big, so is color and some neutrals. The hourglass shape is hot. Patent leather in jackets are popular as are boots. So how does all that translate to your campus wardrobe?
Will you be on your own or would you have someone to do your laundry? If you stay in a hostel, go for convenience. By convenience, I mean clothing and accessories that need minimal care. The last thing you would want is to spend hours just ironing your clothes which would crease easily after a few hours wear. Crease-resistant, easy to wash, or better yet, wash and wear clothes are ideal for hostel life. Hostel Fashion is cool, in line with the trends, sexy, yet practical enough for actually living with when you are on your own.
Campus fashion is pretty much the same, though if you have someone to iron your clothes for you at home, you could go for silk, which creases very easily.
Other than that, the basics are the same.
You will need: 1. Jeans - In campus, you would practically live in jeans. Throw on a pretty top or colorful sweater, play around with the accessories for your individual look, but jeans are what most people wear most of the time.
2. Dresses - No need to look like one of the guys. Sometimes, it pays to look feminine. Besides, these instant outfits save you loads of time. No worries as to whether the top goes with the bottom. Everything matches. Put on a dress, slip on your shoes or boots and you are ready to face the world.
3. Pretty tops in fabrics that need minimal attention and do not crease easily. Jersey's a favourite because these drape well and are easy to care for.
4. Skirts - Sure, silk chiffon or voluminous skirts may look gorgeous on the catwalk but they would look silly o the campus. Then there's all that ironing needed for voluminous skirts and careful laundering needed for chiffon that make these fabrics impractical. Instead, go for something easy to care for. Like denim or jersey skirts.
5. Boots which are downright sexy. If you can, get two pairs. Thigh high boots for your skirts and ankle boots for your pants.

Although severe black is one of the main colors on the fashion runways, this season's makeup is thankfully pretty and not gothic. Rosy cheeks, strong
eyebrows and nude lips are this season's look.
Did you see how the models were made up for Chanel's Fall 2007 to Winter 2008 fashion show?
That is a refreshing look for Fall and Winter and is pretty easy to achieve. All you need is black eyebrow makeup, Chanel Inimitable Mascara , makeup foundation, pink blusher for rosy cheeks, pink eye shadow and a nude lipstick.
Ready? Here's how you get that look.
1. Wash and dry your face. Apply your makeup your foundation with clean, dry fingers. Hide undereye circles and flaws by using a concealer if you must.
2. Blend you makeup into your skin so your skin looks naturally radiant.
3. Apply the pink blusher generously onto the apples of your cheek with a large blush brush and blend well.
4. Run that blush brush lightly over your forehead, the tip of your nose and your chin for all over radiance.
5. Apply the pink eyeshadow lightly over your eyelids.
6. Draw in your eyebrows, filling them out with eyebrow color, either in powder form with a stiff brush or with a eyebrow pencil.
7. Apply a coat of mascara. Let it dry and apply a second coat.
8. Using a lip brush, paint nude lipstick onto your lips.

When the temperatures begin to cool down, the world of jewelry will continue to heat up. We all expect to see warm tones in jewelry designs as the year nears its conclusion, but what may surprise many jewelry lovers is that some of the old favorite jewel tones will be a must-have for the upcoming fall and winter season.
If you ask many people, they will tell you that their favorite color is blue. The fall & winter 2007-2008 color trends suggest that this popular shade will remain in style, which means blue topaz, aquamarine and blue cubic zirconia will be a staple for every jewelry wardrobe. Among the other favorites are shades of purple and pink, which means amethyst and pink topaz or their cubic zirconia substitutes will be hot picks for fall and winter.
As we all know, you can't go wrong with classic black. Plus Size Fall 2007 to Winter 2008 Fashion by Janice Wee

If you are plus size, chances are you have generous curves. Don't hide them. Emphasize your curves. The good curves, that is.
Take stock of yourself in the mirror. Is your waist, tummy and all, smaller than your hips or your bust? If your waist is smaller than your hips and your bust, then go for the curvy look. Quit worrying about the tummy.
It is a misconception that plus size women must dress in baggy clothes to hide the fat. You might feel more secure hidden under that baggy sweater worn over baggy pants, but did you know that baggy clothes make you look fatter?
Another mistake is to wear all black (or some other color that's wrong for you) outfits thinking you'd look slimmer when the color doesn't do a thing for you.
Let's start with the color. No doubt, dark colors are said to be slimming and you see lots of them this Fall and Winter, but in reality, colors are slimming only if they flatter you. Only if the color looks good against your skin.
First, find out what colors suit you. Gather t-shirts, sweaters, scarves and even colored construction paper in medium and dark colors that you really like. Go sit in the sunlight (by the window if the weather outside is too cold) with a mirror.
Put each item under your chin and look in the mirror. How does that color make your face look? Brighter? Duller? Radiant? Drained?
If a color makes you look good, set the item in a good-color pile..
When you've gone through all the colors, take photos of each color in the pile and bring those photos with you when you shop for clothes. Be sure to buy clothes only in the colors that suit you.
Fall 2007 to Winter 2008 celebrates the hourglass figure, which is what you have.
The only thing you really need to do is to focus on your waist. Do daily situps to flatten that stomach. Wear plus size shapewear made for women like yourself. These should take care of the tummy problem.
Then go for dresses, jackets, coats and basically any outfit that nips in at the waist. Wear one of this season's gorgeous belts to further emphasize your waist. The rest of your outfit should be fitted, but not tight. Clothes must be sleek enough not to have any excess material, An outfit that skims your figure is fine but never go for anything baggy or shapeless.
For Fall and Winter, skirt suits are in. Go get yours. Just make sure the waist is nipped in or at least, wear a belt around your waist. Never wear the belt over your hips.
As for coats, don;t fall into the trap of wearing a shapeless coat to hide everything. Wear a coat that defines your waist and be in line with this season's trends, which happen to flatter women like you.
Think plus size women can't look good? Take a look at these plus size looks put together from plus size clothing for real sized women.

Fashion Style Tips for Women: Accessorizing by Kirsty Semple

On the catwalks this season some distinct and varied styles are apparent. The hardness of the rock look, the futuristic metallic look and the contrasting feminine look are all hot this season and provide women with a wide range of choice to suit their own styles and still be fashionable. Not only are these looks up to date and fresh for 2008, but they carry with them classic retro style with the trends of the season are all reminiscent of the 80s: the rock bands animal print, the neon colours and metallics of the punks and the romantic ruffles and lace.
The great thing about this season is that accessories are huge leaving people free to keep their existing wardrobe and buy only a few small items to refresh it. Whatever accessory you are comfortable wearing is the one to go for because the list of fashionable items it endless: jewellery, hats, scarves, wraps, watches, belts, gloves, bandanas, headbands, gloves, boots, bags and hair ties with jewels.
The key to accessorising is to draw attention to your best features. In the colder months when low cut tops are left in the wardrobe, the eye can still be drawn to cleavage by wearing a V-shaped medium length necklace, or layering several different lengths of necklace. Large natural beads such as wooden or stone beads are great for earthy autumn. Or contrast away from earthy naturals with mettalics. To enlarge the bust line go for a jewelled necklace.
Earrings draw attention to your face, long dangly earrings accentuate the length of your neck. Bracelets complete an outfit. Belts highlight curvaceous hips and a great pair knee high boots elongate the legs. A chocker creates a sexy collar bone. Work with your own body and place jewellery where it will draw the eye.
For the rock look a flash of animal print on a belt or a scarf, black nail polish or skull earrings. The skull motif, again on a scarf or belt has the same effect. Don't wear all these things at once and end up looking like a nightmare, the rock look is strong enough to come through with one or two small pieces.
The metallic look is perhaps easiest to achieve with jewellery, choose a colour which suits you and your existing wardrobe from gold, silver, bronze and copper. There are many bags and shoes in these colours available at the moment. For a bold statement red and gold is great, a cooler look silver and purple, have fun and mix your colours.
In contrast to these two harder looks the romantic look is about feminine softness. You can mix in the strong colours from the rock look but with ruffles or lace of embroidery. A large loose ribbon bow, oversized bag or sexy feminine boots. Long leather gloves also appear this season.
Jewellery that is big this season feature pearls, metallics, naturals (eg, wood, shell), heart shapes, discs, hoops, exaggerated facets on stones, bold colours and large natural statements such as butterflies and bold florals.
Most importantly have fun. You can always take something and make your own statement with it. Wear a long necklace as a belt, a scarf round your wrist, brooches as a chocker on a ribbon. Contrast fine jewellery with casual clothes.
Always remember that a small statement offset with neutrals is more effective than many bold statements which will clash and be confusing. Less is more.

Girls in the Know Say Sherri Hill is Queen of Pageant Dresses by Chris Robertson

When it comes to pageant dresses and prom dresses, few dispute that Sherri Hill designs lead the way to coveted crowns. Miss USA 2007 Rachel Smith, Miss USA 2006 Tara Conner, Miss America 2007 Lauren Nelson, and Miss America 2006 Jennifer Barry were all crowned while wearing Sherri Hill pageant dresses. Even the third runner up for Miss Teen USA 2007, Caitlin Upton, whose response to a question about the inability of Americans to locate the U.S. on a map made her an overnight YouTube sensation, was wearing a classic baby blue Sherri Hill dress at the time.
It's not surprising that Sherri Hill's 2007 and 2008 collections of prom dresses, pageant gowns, and special event dresses have caused a sensation in the fashion world and among teen fashionistas across the globe. After all, Hill spent a decade as the chief designer for Jovani, a huge name in prom dresses. In her collections, it's evident that Sherri Hill combines fabrics and trims with innovative combinations of cuts that are designed to flatter virtually every body type.
A Sherri Hill dress can be bold, sassy, or glamorous - but it is always elegant. Her black strapless satin gown with a red striped sash and jeweled bow is sure to turn heads, while her lavender pleated metallic chiffon spaghetti strap gown is frosted in silver and accented with silver liquid beading for a shimmering glow.
An intricately cut bodice combined with an hourglass fit and fun detailed pockets make her jewel-toned satin creation the envy of many prom queen hopefuls. Similarly, her long, black satin dress kicks it up a notch with a thigh-high slit and red lining - not to mention the rhinestone cherries that adorn the pockets. For those who need a bit more roominess, Sherri Hill's short, gold and silver sequined party dress is made from tiered ruffles of silk chiffon and features a wrapped empire waistline.
For those who are more daring, one Sherri Hill purple sleeveless gown features full front coverage but is slit to the waist and comes together with ties. The tie design is repeated in the backless gown, leaving some - but not all - to the imagination.
If beautiful elegance is the goal, Sherri Hill designs never disappoint. From an exquisitely cut long strapless gown with a large bow at the empire waist, to a pleated shimmering gown with a sequined sweetheart bodice, her gorgeous designs are timeless. In another of her prom dresses, yards and yards of beautiful satin-finished silk chiffon make a woman feel as though she's floating, while the intricately shirred bodice and rhinestone straps make her feel like a princess.
Sheri Hill's collections of pageant dresses and prom dresses are elegant and bold, making her designs both coveted and treasured.

The New York Fashion Week by trishia lopez

Fashion industry vowed earlier in the year to move away from the waif-like images that have become synonymous with the modeling industry, but the issue failed to generate much controversy beyond the catwalks, and models participating in New York's Fashion Week, which concludes this week, still looked emaciated. Fashion is about change, the next big thing, and trends do not occur in a vacuum. Fashion Week has come and gone, leaving some weird trends in its wake.
Style
If you're wondering whether that great low-waisted pair of pants you bought last year look, well, a little too last year, we'll help you decide when a trend has died. As Spring Fashion Week winds down, we look at its highlights, surprises and legends-in-the-bud so far. New York Fashion Week was a magnet for celebrities. "Fashion has been one of the lead disciplines of visual culture," says Koch. But fashion is far too important to be limited to Vogue. It's an art magazine that provides context, an architecture magazine that actually criticizes buildings and a fashion magazine that offers up the musings of academics as collection critique. "You start reading it, and there's very theoretical exposés on urban development placed next to a fashion spread," says van Bennekom, a 032c fan.
DKNY spring is a well-blended style mix NEW YORK -- Mix it up. But the spring 2008 styles shown at Wednesday's opening of New York Fashion Week were more loose and feminine than the ladylike, polished fall fashions now in stores. NEW YORK Fashion trends may come and go, but the fashion industry's stick-thin models have yet to go out of style and continue to convey their unhealthy message to the masses, according to a Reuters report.
Spring
Spring race wear could be summed up that neatly was it not for the stink whipped up in gossip columns after the first deliveries of smocks and skinny trousers. As Spring Fashion Week winds down, we look at its highlights, surprises and legends-in-the-bud so far. Getting the skinny on that slim spring look. Time for optimism, at least in wardrobe NEW YORK -- It's going to be a bright and sunny spring, judging by the rainbow of colors previewed at New York Fashion Week. That was the message Donna Karan conveyed as she presented her spring DKNY collection Sunday at her downtown studio.
Michael Kors presents a color explosion NEW YORK -- An explosion of color rocked the tents at New York Fashion Week Sunday with Michael Kors' spring collection. (09/14/2007)Fashion Week saves the best for last Seth Wenig/Associated PressZac Posen's craftsmanship was evident in his spring collection. (09/14/2007)Ten fashion trends emerge during Fashion Week In addition to the push into eco-fashion, here are several trends for spring that emerged during New York Fashion Week. But we're pretty sure this is just the Marc Jacobs show, and that Mischa poked her head through some bolts of fabric and wandered over in the hope that a spring-themed pagan ritual might break out.
It's getting more difficult to define by geographical borders, especially at New York fashion week, where so many designers of so many different nationalities are now showing off their spring 2008 collections. As fashion week kicks off in New York this week with designers showing their spring 2008 collections, there's a strong 1960s vibe showing up on runways and even in some of the accessory collections being presented in showrooms around town.

What's Trendy in 2008? by Michael Rad

First things first: the spring summer fashion for 2008 will contain a lot of interesting models that clearly reminds us of the 50s. Baggy dresses below the knee for day wear or vaporous dresses for evening that will make the fashion in 2008. The trousers will be in fashion as well, and mini trousers may be worn as well. Capri trousers are still in style and may be worn with extra large sweaters. However, there is a trend that will mix styles, so sporty style will mix with the chic and there will be an ethno mix, which will result in some interesting combinations. The urban style will thus be a functional wardrobe with sporty details. This highly unlikely combination that comes as a surprise is like a breathe of fresh air.
The colors that are dominant for the style for 2008's spring and summer are the grey, black, white plus yellow. This color is a problematic color that does not suit with everything, so it must be worn with great care. However, next year, dare to wear yellow and see how it looks. The prints on the dresses or blouses can be floral, but they will become more abstract and even geometric or will totally lack. So uni is back in style. The accessories will match the outfit.
Now you know what to hunt for, just go and get them.

Lingerie style changes just as fashion changes. So, each year there are some major trends in what to wear under the clothes. 2008 trends include several models. The baby doll is still in style for 2008 and the corsets are very hot. The key word for 2008's lingerie is romance and imagination. Nothing is out of fashion this year as long as it is in the right combination. Remember that what you wear underneath the clothes is also important, maybe even more important that the clothes per se. the sculptured underwear is also a powerful come back in 2008.
These items are actually sculpted after the female anatomy, so don't miss a lingerie sculpture, because it is a real piece of art in 2008. Panty hoses are in, and these may be of the daftest colors. The more colorful the panty hoses the better. For panties: G strings are not really stylish anymore, so other styles are appreciated: think bikinis, or why not even boy shorts- which may be really sexy if the cut is more daring.
The romantic lingerie will be highly fashionable and some sexy lingerie will be in too. Consequently, flowers will be dominant and laces will rule. The trendiest colors will be several and these are to support the romance and imagination that is meant to represent the lingerie fashion for the year 2008. The black will be always in fashion, nothing could be more romantic and sexy at the same time than some silk lingerie in black. Just the same, white keeps a hot spot, as white lingerie will never go out of style. Red is for the daring romantics, while pink is for a cozy day. Other colors can occur: purple, yellow, and even green. Who said that these cannot be used as lingerie colors? The code for colors in 2008 will be no limits. So, besides the romantic and sexy colors, other unusual colors will also be advertised.
The fibers that will be used for manufacturing these items of lingerie will be modern stretch fibers that respect the female anatomy, stretch laces, silk, lycra, satin and even cotton. All these will underline the beauty of the body and will offer comfort while wearing and so much more. All in all, you have to remember two words for 2008: romance and imagination above all. Take a look at the new collection in the stores or simply go online and pick a fresh piece of lingerie for 2008.

Fendi handbags are a staple in the designer handbag world. Each year Fendi handbags are created with a unique new look to be carried down the runways and placed on store shelves. Fendi has had its share of "it" bags throughout the years.
Here are the top picks:
Fendi Baguette: First launched in 1997 this bag made several appearances on the hit TV show "Sex and the City" making the Fendi baguette the new "it" bag. 10 years later its back on the runway! In the Fendi spring 2008 collection we get to know the Fendi baguette all over again (and we love it). Many versions and colors of this bag have been created over the years from basic black canvas to crocodile. The Fendi baguette is a classic in the designer handbag world. Even before its 2nd release the Fendi baguette was one hot seller.
Fendi B bag: in 2006 the world was introduced to the Fendi B bag. This popular Fendi handbag has graced the pages of top fashion magazines all over the world and has decorated the shoulders of many celebrities. Its unique buckle design is now a Fendi style trademark. The Fendi B bag comes in every color and style you can think of. Its price tag $2,000 to $27,000.
Fendi spy bag: the Fendi spy bag is possibly one of the greatest "it" bags. In 2005 when this Fendi handbag first came out, boutiques were selling out of the popular handbag and people were being waited listed. There are currently almost too many Fendi Spy bag styles and colors to count. Despite the bags price (anywhere from $1,500 to $10,000+) this Fendi handbag is still flying off the shelves today!
If your looking for an "it" bag, good luck dodging Fendi's arsenal of beauty's. What will Fendi come up with next to leave bag buyers in a panicked frenzy?

The braided hair styles have been introduced and influenced by the African American culture. In 2008 these braided hair styles can be proudly worn as they will not go out of fashion. These styles are available in multiple variants, both for men and women and will give a plus of creativity to your look. Also, if you say braids, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to have long or medium sized hair. The braided hair styles are available for short hair also. This style is suitable for all age ranges, so just get them if you like the idea. Getting such a hair style may be a lengthy process, as it involves a lot of work, according to your requirements and the length of your hair. It will also be expensive, but the entire process is a work of art.
Style ideas
The braided hair styles are numerous. So, if you are thinking of getting such a hair style, you will have to think about which type you will pick out for yourself. There are simple braids, suitable for younger people and children, micro braids which are more complicated to make, but which may be short or long, there's also the tight braid style, and short braided styles for men, elegant looking braids, more casual looking braids, there are even braids with beads included in the art work. So, choose a style that you would like to have and wear it in 2008. If you choose to put beads in your braids as well, you can choose the colors you like and will add a plus of color to the appearance of your hair. You will be appreciated and feel good with such an original hair style. Don't worry about the maintenance of such a hair style; it is not so difficult to maintain at all. You will be able to wash and clean your hair on a regular basis and when you think you want to get rid of the braids, this will also be possible without cutting your hair.
Visit your hairdresser for braided hair styles
So, if you have decided on several braided hair styles and you don't know which one to choose, you can upload your picture on a web site that will show you the way you look with diverse braided styles, so that your decision will be easier to take. You will be able to find numerous such web sites on the Internet. The next step is for you to go to your hairdresser's and tell them how you would like your hair to be. Then just sit and wait while one of the lovely braided hair styles will be made to you. Wearing such a hair style you will make you special and original.

Do you like to wear fashionable clothes? Are you a person that is always curious of the current fashion trends? Find out what the great designers have planned for you. So, do you want 2008 to be your year? Dress up according to the current fashion trends and you will get an advantage point that will help you in all your activities. First of all, as autumn and winter are coming, you have to be prepared for these seasons. Contrast is what matters in this season. You can choose to be feminine and wear dresses or be feminine in a more subtle way and wear some sexy trousers and sweater. All is allowed in the current fashion trends.
Fall and winter current fashion trends
Do you like the cold seasons? Hot tea and chocolate will make your day? Well, count the current fashion trends in for a mood booster, as the funny looking models and styles will also cheer you up a bit when you think you need more warmth. Knitted extra large sweaters will be a great hit in the current fashion trends. Actually, all that is knitted and hand made is very fashionable this fall and winter. So, ask your granny to knit you some funny large blouses and wear these with some classy and tight jeans. This will be a subtle combination, just perfect for a casual look which is attractive at the same time. If you go for dresses, they can be knitted as well and wearing them with some colorful boots will give you a trendy appearance. If you want a more official outfit, you can opt for suits in stripes or in black and white or uni. The suits of the fifties will be of great success, so adopt this style for you as well.
Hot colors for a cold season
For the fall and winter seasons, the colors that you wear must be as lively as possible. Even if grey seems to be the next great thing in colors for 2008, in the fall and winter you need to cheer up with some warm colors. Get red, orange or yellow and mix them with grey or brown. The sweaters that you wear should be in the most colorful combinations: the idea is to have a bit of color on you. The boots that you wear shouldn’t be dull. Yellow or green are perfect for the current fashion trends. The accessories should be colorful as well, and they should be of large sizes. If you want to buy a bag, choose an extra large size and an unusual color. All in all, if you have read these brief indicators you can consider yourself up to date with the current fashion trends. Apply the things that you have read and you will be able to enjoy the present season in full fashion.

Winter Fashion 2007 - What Is That? by Stuart Brown AP

That's right - sequins and dresses are the trend for the winter seasons in 2007 and 2008.
Holiday fashion always calls for a little shine, but the sparkle and glitter shown in this season's clothing has been just blinding!
Such glittery is alittle too much for the day to day fashion, but absolutely perfect for a party.
It is perfectly ok if the glittery look is not too overwhelming.
In fact, some glitz and glamour can brighten anyone's mood.
Consider the juicy Couture Sequin Tank Dress. It comes in 2 types of colour - grey and black and it is so popular that this knit-and-sequined striped tank dress can be found anywhere in the online shopping world.
This dress fits well for taller frames.
But the think stripes may be too much for the smaller frames.
Use your imagination, wear this dress in as many ways as you want.
Another great casual combination is to belt it as a tunic, worn over skinny jeans or leggings with heels.
There are various options: loosely belt a trench over the dress so that the sequins can peek through or satin trenches and coats, perfect for outdoor events.
You can treat the coat as the overall outfit and at the same time stay warm and fashionable.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars are spent creating and marketing just the right image for many superstars.
Most people respond that they would care and that it is important for a pilot to look like a pilot.

The author was called in to help create and present clothing guidelines to four hundred employees of a bank after a customer closed her account and took her business else where. Addtional Wardbrobe Tips:
Color influences us and affects our moods and emotions. Each of us responds differently to colors.
Neutral colors (black, navy, gravy, tan, brown) are considered basic colors and enable you to mix and match with other clothing in your wardrobe. Red and blue are staple colors as well.
In general, darker colors project confidence and strength. Lighter colors, which are softer to the eye, enable you to appear to be more approachable.
Jewelry: One popular look is to wear many bracelets on one hand. This is fine as long as they don't get in the way of doing work or make nosie every time you move your arm.

Prada Handbags Now Being Designed for Function as Well as Style by Mat Moniker

Prada is leading the designer handbag industry in creating more functional designs. Prada handbags will be theft resistant and have full Internet access. Some of the new Prada handbags will debut Christmas of 2008.
Â
The designer handbag industry is finally taking cues from the handheld computer industry and making accessories that do more than just look good.
Â
“Luxury can’t depend solely on brand name anymore,†said one Prada designer who wished to remain anonymous. “Women want to have everything they need at their fingertips in one easy-to-carry package. They should be able to order flowers for themselves on the road and have them waiting when they get to a club. Prada handbags will be able to do that now.â€
Â
The designer wouldn’t go into deep detail, but he said the new line of Prada handbags would have full Internet access and be completely theft resistant.
Â
“I shouldn’t say this, but the new Prada handbags will have built in GPS and fingerprint scanners,†he confided. “If someone the handbag doesn’t recognize grabs the strap or zipper an unpleasant sounding alarm will sound and the zipper will lock.â€
Â
If a Prada handbag is stolen, police will be able to follow its GPS signature and recover it before the contents are violated.
Â
Other Prada handbags still in the concept stage will be able to turn into personal floatation devices and portable airbags/pillows for an extra measure of comfort and safety.
Â
Designer handbag industry experts say Prada isn’t the only company bringing function into their design. Some Balenciaga handbags will soon be equipped with MP3 players as well as long distance listening devices. You will be able to listen in on other women’s conversations from 40 feet away.
Â
A Coach handbag in development will bring personal protection to a new level. Not only will the Coach handbag have similar theft resistance features to the Prada handbags, it will be able to convert into a gas mask in case of a terrorist attack.
